A seat at the table. Time for your marriage.
Dear friends,
For the first ten years of our marriage, Yvonne and I got really good at being really bad at marriage.
That part of our story is why we care so deeply about this work. Putting Jesus at the center of our marriage—and learning practical skills we hadn’t been taught—gave us a new direction.
Our desire through Renewed Hearts is to help other couples take those steps: growing closer to Jesus, feeling known and understood, enjoying each other, and discovering how to love and serve others together.
This October, we’re preparing for two opportunities to do just that:
October 8–11 | Marriage Retreat in North Myrtle Beach
Well welcomed couples into our homes for a weekend of time with the Lord, guided conversations, shared meals, and time together. We explored spiritual, emotional, and physical intimacy, along with the importance of enjoying and playing together. Our hope is that couples leave with practical ways to continue growing at home.
October 24 | Abundant Married Life Workshop in Smithfield
We worked with Pastor Stewart Dove at Grace Community Church in Smithfield NC for a day focused on growing closer to Jesus and one another. From 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., we explored communication, connection, and what it can look like to serve together as a couple.
We want to encourage your marriage as well- here’s a simple invitation: set aside ten unhurried minutes this week and ask each other:
“What is one thing I could do this week that would help you feel more loved by me?”
Take turns. Listen without defending or correcting. Then choose one specific way to follow through.
That kind of everyday intentionality is part of the abundant married life we want to help couples pursue.
Help make room for another couple
Our retreats follow a pay-it-forward approach: generosity from others helps provide lodging, meals, and materials for participating couples.
If you share our desire to help couples build strong, lasting marriages, would you consider becoming a monthly giving partner? Regular support helps us plan for the ongoing work of mentoring, retreats, and workshops. See the link below to become a monthly partner.
Thank you for walking alongside us and praying for the couples we serve.
With gratitude,
Bruce & Yvonne King
